Start off the new year with more live music and artist interviews on WHUP!

WHUP continues with its mission to bring live music and exclusive interviews to you! Here’s a few highlights for the month of January:

Americana Music Show (Wednesdays, 7-10pm)

• On January 6th, country rock musician Clark Paterson will talk with host Calvin Powers about his career and his latest album, The Final Tradition, during the 8:00 hour of the show. See the Facebook event page here.

• January 13th will feature Shinyribs (aka Kevin Russell), the former
  front man for the legendary Austin band The Gourds, also during the 8:00 hour. Topics will include Shinyribs’ post-Gourds solo work, life in Austin, and the secrets to his songwriting. They will also be playing tracks from his latest album, Okra Candy. See the Facebook event page here.

Pass the Hat (Fridays, 6-8pm)

• On January 8th, jazz/blues songwriter and pianist Carrie Marshall will join hosts Kirk Ridge and Bob Johnson. See the Facebook event page here.
• January 29th, Carrboro, NC artists Sallie Scharding/PaperMoon will bring their combination of jazz, originals, swing and blues to the show.
