WHUP depends in part on listener contributions to keep us going and move us forward, and it’s time once again for our biannual week-long Begathon. Don’t turn the dial – we take an alternative approach to our on-air fundraiser, adding special programming to our usual high-quality, original, locally produced lineup without the usual interruptions and painful solicitations. During our short history on the air, WHUP has hosted a steady stream of musicians, non-profits, area businesses, public officials and others in our Hillsborough studios – more than 700 folks at last count! Spotlighting the creative talent and energy in our community is why we’re here, and if you believe in our mission, now is a great time to toss a few coins in our virtual cup. All donations are special to us, whether major gifts or spare change, so all donations are deeply appreciated.
Funds from the Begathon will be used for technology upgrades, to add remote broadcast equipment and increase our live music capacity, and to expand our community outreach and services.
