WHUP is pleased to present another great live Special Session with Nashville-based Molly Tuttle, currently touring behind her new release, Rise. A Berklee School of Music grad, Molly has been featured on A Prairie Home Companion, Music City Roots, World Cafe and other top-tier radio broadcasts, and her stellar six-string guitar skills have landed her on the covers of Acoustic Guitar and Flatpicking Guitar magazines. Among her many awards, she won first place in the prestigious Chris Austin Songwriting Competition at Merlefest, and last fall received a Momentum Award from the International Bluegrass Music Association in the instrumentalist category.
Raised in Palo Alto in a musical family, Molly picked up the mandolin and banjo as well as guitar, though she has become known as a premier bluegrass flatpicker. In fact, she’ll be vying for Guitarist of the Year at the upcoming IBMA World of Bluegrass convention in Raleigh later this month, the first woman ever nominated for that honor, as well as Emerging Artist and Female Vocalist of the Year. WHUP is pleased and honored to showcase an artist who will be making waves for years to come!
