WHUP is pleased to announce our two latest program additions, original concepts hosted by knowledgeable and skilled women DJs:
Modern Things (Saturdays 8-10 pm) focuses on the vibrant international electronic music scene of the 1970s and ’80s. Host, curator and club DJ Sarah Carrier draws from her extensive collection of rarities and other sources to bring listeners a fast-paced ear-opening tour of electronic styles from around the globe including dance-oriented post-punk, Minimal Wave, New Wave/New Romantic, all the other Waves, EBM, New Age, Industrial and Italo disco.
Dream Sequence (Wednesdays 9-11 pm) explores musical realms that lie beyond the mundane and predictable, tapping the hidden secrets that lie in the unconscious and emerge when we least expect them. Combining an eclectic array of material from found sound to the highly melodic, host Hannah Rideout weaves a timeless two-hour tableaux of mystery and revelation that will stimulate and inspire.
