Live music has been a WHUP hallmark from the outset, but our live in-studio sessions have now attracted attention from national touring bands as well as local and regional artists and we’ve ramped up the frequency of our live music programming. During IBMA week we had four top-notch bluegrass bands join us on WHUP, supplemented by five other appearances on our various shows, the most we’ve ever hosted in a seven-day span!
And we’re planning plenty more, with the Wood Brothers and Seth Walker scheduled to join us on October 29 for a conversation and song swap. All our live music is available on demand, any time you want! To listen, visit our whup-specials page or any of the show pages that regularly feature live music including Pass the Hat, Roots Rampage and Classic Eno Festival Live. Plus we have our weekly urban poetry show, Spoken Stories, spotlighting spoken-word artists from North Carolina and beyond. More on the horizon as well, stay tuned for additional announcements!
