First Lady Kristin Cooper, Secretary of Natural and Cultural Resources Susi Hamilton and NC Arts Council Director Wayne Martin talk about North Carolina music in a roundtable discussion on Thursday, Jan 10 at 1:00 pm in the WHUP studios moderated by station news-show host and DJ Bob Burtman. The panel will survey the vibrant and diverse music scene in Hillsborough, the greater Triangle and throughout the state and review its impacts, both cultural and economic.
The session is part of a visit by top state arts officials to Hillsborough that will spotlight the burgeoning influence of the town – home to Yep Roc Records/Redeye Distribution, Music Maker Relief Foundation and WHUP – on the region’s musical landscape.
Each of the participants will also bring one of their favorite songs by a North Carolina artist to spin during the proceedings!
And don’t forget that if you can’t hear the show live, you can always listen any time on demand at whupfm.org.
