WHUP is known for staging unique events, and we’ve got one happening on Saturday, December 7 – An Evening of Rare Spirits! The centerpiece will be a tasting of vintage whiskeys and other impossible-to-find bottles dating from the 1940s to 1980. Also on the bill: Tasty hors d’oeuvres from Saratoga Grill, fortune telling by the legendary Madame Aurora, music by itinerant fiddler and accordionist Tim Wells and other entertainments. We’ll also auction off a couple of the rarest bottles, which if you could even find them would cost you a week’s wages or more.
The event will be hosted by Mark Solomon, who directs the Leland Little fine wine and spirits department and will provide a little background on the merch. Celebrity Pourmaster Eryk Pruitt from Yonder Bar will dispense the liquids.
An Evening of Rare Spirits takes place during our Fund-A-Thon week, and all proceeds will benefit WHUP.
The event will take place from 6-8 pm at the tastefully appointed law offices of Stuart Paynter in downtown Hillsborough (106 S Churton St). We’re limiting attendance to 70 so everyone gets to sample the goods, and tickets are already in short supply. To ensure your place at the bar visit our Eventbrite page. Hope to see you there!
