A Slice of Gold Wax

A Slice of Gold Wax

Mondays at 8:00 pm

To be golden is to persevere, prosper, enrich, inspire, endure, shimmer, shine, radiate, and sparkle. To be golden is to be viewed in high regard, as prestigious, sophisticated, and successful. The rich musical sounds of the 1970s encapsulate all the positive traits that gold represents. There are golden songs, albums, and genres that exemplified the decade and this radio show is dedicated to highlighting all their golden characteristics. This year marks the golden anniversary of the year 1972 and every Monday from 8 – 10 pm host Bonney The Kid will spin an extensive array of classics as well as the lesser known gems released during those 12 months. Multiple genres/subgenres will be covered from classic rock anthems, socio-political charged soul, thematic cosmic jazz, mind expanding experimentations, heartfelt folk/country rock, blues bangers, metal in its infancy, to the int’l sounds of reggae/African/Latin. Whether you’re hearing this music for the first time or reliving it all over again, tune in to celebrate the many slices of gold wax that made up the golden year of 1972.
