The annual WHUP Fund-A-Thon will take place Monday, December 2 through Sunday, December 8. We postponed the week from our usual October dates due to the need to direct as much charitable giving to Western North Carolina as possible for immediate Hurricane Helene relief efforts. But we continue to rely on our listeners and supporters to provide the bulk of our revenue, so we’re asking that you dig deep and donate during the week to keep us afloat.
With the decision to hire our first station manager comes added urgency to underscore the importance of local independent media and accessible, community-oriented radio, an increasingly hard-to-find commodity. WHUP amplifies the voices of people making a difference as well as musicians and artists whose work helps shape our cultural identity – since we went on the air in 2015 we’ve provided a platform for more than 1,800 Triangle residents to showcase their work and share their stories and successes on the air. Your contributions during the Fund-A-Thon make this mission possible.
You’re already on the website, so please hit that donate button and make a tax-deductible donation today. Consider becoming a member of WHUP at the $120 level, or make a recurring monthly donation to spread out the love over the course of the year. Our 100+ volunteers thank you!
